Reminds me slightly of a Corvette...
Seems like that this kit was 'made' to build such custom versions. I remember that many different versions were shown on the Piranha-homepage. I have a very special custom version in my collection too :-) |

Posted - 02/23/2012 : 19:02:00 Thank you for your kind words Antony. You are right, I try not to take models too seriously and have fun. I'm glad you can see that in what I do. Maybe sometime I build something for you. :-)

And that is the whole point of our hobby - no matter who builds them, or how they turn out.
Welcome aboard, Antony :o)

Posted - 02/23/2012 : 12:30:44 Hello there,
This model put a big smile on my face as did the 275 GTBC two weeks ago.
I am the son of André-Marie Ruf (AMR) and these fabulous iconoclasms that James does are reminding me my Dad's private work. They share the same spirit with his early models and some of the customs he kept doing to relax aside the more classic AMR and X ranges. This spirit can be summed up in three letters : F U N Wherever he is, if he can see Jame's work, I am sure he enjoys it.
James, since I saw your 1/24th GTO speedster, I am a big fan of your work. The way you transform ''iconic'' kits might not please everybody. But please go on, keep on entertaining us and reminding all of us that modelcars are (were) also made for fun.
Thanks also to Mike to let us see such unusual creations aside the regular production of the hobby. This is showing there's room for everybody, isn't it?

Posted - 02/22/2012 : 17:24:38 New pics, deep dish wheels and paint scheme revealed! Red Nose Racing "RNR" I think Chevrolet was first to use that team name. :-) Ok now I am stirring things up.

Posted - 02/22/2012 : 16:08:55 Chevrolet (gosh I hate those guys) stole the roll hoop design from Ferrari. Have a look at a '61 330 TRI.

Are we allowed to know what colour it's going to be? :o)
