I have started a new project based on the AMR white metal kit. A number of body modifications will be done and it will be changed from the LHD as the kit was made to the RHD as seen here. All four are spoken for and will be built as the Le Mans car.

I will show the build process here in this thread so check back often.

Here is some nice photography.

And some variations.

Peter, have you been getting my last few emails? I'm getting bounced by your tampabay address, usually after four or five days delay. It's ok, it wasn't anything important - I was more concerned that it mightn't be just me and that you could be missing stuff others too...

Sorry to contact you this way, butting into your thread here :o)

Very nice studio Peter,
its a modern area better than in the early Ferrari days ( picture )
Good luck with your new project.
I think were all looking forward to it.

Now that I have finished the first few 330 LMB models [a total of 5] it was time to continue setting up the workbench. I have added some Lexan guards to the lathe setup [helps keep the chips away from my assembly mat]and a slide out tray for clean up tasks.

With the slide out tray all I need to do is move over to one side, open the drawer and adjust the neat Ikea light and I am cutting white metal. When not in use I just slide it out of the way....no need to clean up the area for the next task.

On to the next project, some 4 liter GTOs!

Thanks, I had a chance to view your work today. I like it very much, especially the Gordini project. And the 312PB [MFH] is stunning.

Fantastic interpretation Peter, looks superb and those Bosica wheels finish it beautifully. Well done.

You nailed it once again. Beautiful job on a beautiful car!

The model in it's final form. Valve stems, rear registration plate, GB sticker [printed here in my studio], rear mud flaps , hood straps, wiper, etc. are all in place now.

Thanks Guys! I want my assembly area as clean as possible. I will make a catch tray under the lathe bench that will double as a
clean up bench...I am thinking a heavy duty drawer glide and a 3/4" piece of plywood should do the trick. This way all of the cutting, cleaning and fabricating will be off to the side. I am also thinking of a plexi guard mounted to the left side of the lathe to deflect any stray chips and metal shavings.

Very nice Peter, that was a fast setup!

The new work space is up and running...along with the new Taig lathe. A versatile machine that's also a workhorse...just look at that motor! Machining large stock is a breeze....and the milling attachments will come in handy. The paint room is in a separate room outside. No more paint dust to contend with.

After a few long weeks of moving and organizing my new shop I am finally back up and running again. I still have to set up my paint booth but I have plenty to assemble in the meantime. I have also upgraded to a Taig lathe with simple milling capabilities so I hope to be "turning out" more and more parts. Once I am comfortable with the new setup I hope to add a dedicated mill...expanding my scope of work even more.

The 330 LMB models are in the home stretch now. A few final details and refinements are to be made but here are some teaser photos. And yes...the rear registration plate is missing. This will be installed next.
