Just completed for a very patient forum member...there is nothing like a Le Phoenix GTO in my book.

Oddly enough, even though I really like what Peter does with his display bases, I can understand why some people would not be too fussed about the plaques. Possibly my only criticism would be that the plaque is a little too thick (and given the nature of that kind of thing, I do not know that it is something that can be overcome), but if they could be made to match the thickness of the information plate on the left, they would be absolutely perfect :o)

I am not yet lucky enough to own a ScaleAutoArt model (however, I do have plans for poor Mr. Wingfield...), but when I do, I would be delighted to have it mounted on a base exactly like the one above - plaque and all!

There is a Stephen Barnett, and there is a Peter Wingfield.
Please go on Peter....

In all honesty most reviews have been favorable on the presentation I currently use...that being said the purist in me says to go back to a simple signature [as most artists do] and place a label on the underside of the base to identify the car.

If anyone on this forum has a graphic arts background, what about some suggestions for Peter to use on a future plaque? My suggestion to Peter was a smaller, more simple design that does not divert ones attention from his art work.

Peter,
I'm proud to own 8 of your models. One by one they are beaties.
And the bases are very nice too, whatever they say.
Thanks again Peter.

Ouch! That hurt ;)

They are nickel and enamel...this is my first negative comment...unless some are not being honest with me. I had positive feedback until now.

As you say Peter.... very nice pair.

Le Phoenix take some beating and just love the Tour de France version and great base..
