I thought of creating a thread where collectors can display their Piranha kits built by famous builders.
I start with the 250 GTO Spyders built by Laurent Tay (Garage43).

es, Ilarios work has become really nice. He should do white metal also :-). I own non-Ferrari subjects from him and I can say that he has done a very nice sculpturing job. Cant wait for the AM DB4 GTZ he has announced. As it will be in the Ilario range, it will be more detailed than the Jag and the Mercedes - very cool. |

I do hope also Trossi to the "team".
Fred, Mike Craig and Eric Weber can create miracles!
I do believe also to Ilario. His work is improved geometrically the last 2 years. His "not only Ferraris" creations are very interesting among collectors and "fill the gup"!
We'll wait and I am sure that we are going to see interesting subjects.

As I said previously, artists like Mike Craig are valuable for our modelcar community.
How many can built today descent masters to produce a run of kits?
Mike Craig, Eric Weber, Ilario, Jacques Brauer,....
Even if I forgot someone we'll hardly need two hands to count them!!
So, its our duty to show the improvement of their work and protect their effort.

Piranha kits can also be the base of magnificent builts.
I am sure that Mike agrees to post here this link which shows the fantastic WIP of Master Akihiro Kamimura on Piranha's 312 PB.

I don't know who the lucky owner is, as the model is stil on Laurent's workbench undelivered, but I am sure for one thing, he is going to love it.

Laurent Tay (Garage43), developed a new technique to replicate the hammered aluminum surface on the Piranha's 250GTO prototype.
I was surprized when I saw the photos that Laurent mailed to me.
It's indeed very realistic.
I must admit that it's the better approach that I saw up to now.
I post the photos so you can check on your own.
I hope that Laurent will post more close ups soon.

I agree that the 356 Speedster Carrera GT "King Carrera" is maybe the best Piranha kit. The built by JPM is spectacular. I love those SCCA designs, they are really cool. Looking forward to get my own kit built. Last but not least, it should be one of the rarest Piranha kits of them all. |

One of the best Piranha's kits , IMHO, is the Porsche 356 "King Carrera".
Jean Paul Magnete's (JPM) built, from Miniwerk's inventory prove it.

Ok, here you are (Fred's pictures);
And my Mini from Laurent, painted in genuine Lamborghini "Verde Hydra".
It was one of a pair, but I sold the burgundy one to a collector in Singapore and it was totally destroyed in the Post :o(
