Fitting and constructing the doors.

The movable parts are installed. The door hinges in the kit were not working so new hinges were fabricated from brass. Now everything works as it should.

Installation of the roof wing and nose panel. All of these parts are soldered for the best integrity.

Brilliant work Peter. The 1:12 Hiro might help me on my quest to build 1:12 Tamiya 312t4 I've just started.

Thanks...next up the HIRO 1/12 scale of the same car and livery ;)

That turned out great..As you said, sometimes the worst models turn out best!!

Now on to your really big Hiro 64 250 GTO with moving engine parts :)

Finally done...after many months of scratch built corrections and a "kit from hell" to start with. Given the tight budget this is the result.

Decals are added...

PeterW Posted - 08/14/2014 : 16:14:27
Ride height is set and the display base is completed. Clear will be applied after the final decals go on the car. In the meantime the engine bay, exhaust system and interior are in the final stages of fitting.

Thanks Guys...much appreciated. I do agree, sometimes the most challenging kits turn out the best ;)

Also, I'm sorry...
Very good job Peter !!!.
I think the same as Joe ... As more raw, more challenge and more fun!
I've suffered the crudities of the OMF 250 GTO64 model ,but the final result, worth it.
Also extremely raw, are the Western Models kits
but can get with them decent things, and they are white metal made.

Sorry for the long delay...My Mother passed away recently and this particular project was giving me some real headaches...but I think the worst is over. One of the crudest kits I have come across recently.

So...we move forward with the basic exhaust system being sorted out, the interior components fitted and new aluminum floors...and of course the motor. The body has received a clear scratch coat prior to the custom decals which will be done next.
