I am building two of these based on a modified AMR kit with special engine detail kit, so the "bonnet" will open. One is available for reservation so please contact Mike if interested.

I will start the build process next week so stay tuned...this will be a fun project!

This series is SOLD OUT

Great job, Peter! I read the R&T article and this automobile is particularly interesting as this GTO was a barnyard find.

Its been a while since I have posted progress. Most of the tasks are too familiar so here is the model as it starts it's final fit and assembly.

I hired a "little" helper to move the engine details along ;)

PeterW Posted - 12/03/2014 : 16:31:10
Additional modifications are performed to get the rear profile correct.

PeterW Posted - 12/02/2014 : 17:22:34
The side vents are opened and wheel wells thinned.

The bonnet is fabricated from brass.

The "bulge" is added and will require additional shaping to get it just right.

PeterW Posted - 11/10/2014 : 16:40:08
Initial dry fitting involves checking all aspects of the engine bay components and to determine the correct bonnet to fabricate...which in this case will be formed brass, not the white metal in either of the kits.
