Posted - 07/14/2015 : 10:30:17 Hi, I hope everyone is doing OK, I always been a Ferrari Fan and had mostly 1/43 Ferrari models in my collection that I am selling right now, but two years ago I bought a Makeup Porsche 911 RS from Mike and I got hook, now I been looking for hand built 911 Porsche for my collection but there isn’t much up there, I have a couple of Makeup and one looksmart, I was wondering if someone can recommend any hand built 911 Porsche models? if you have pictures please post them.
Thank you! Abel

Posted - 07/14/2015 : 22:11:20 Thank you X-man for the photos, very nice models, I will ask for the HI resolution photos of the MR, I am also very curious on the final BBR Porsche but can also take months for them release it, and is interesting the 911 has been almost the same shape since the beginning but it has so many variations to it and it always looks beautiful.

Posted - 07/14/2015 : 20:55:46 That 911 you are looking at on eBay is quite a smart looking piece - and, being built by Laurent, it will be superbly finished.
As a matter of interest, the 959 and P4/5 he also has listed there were both purchased from me recently. The 959 in particular is a very beautiful model. I was extremely sad to see it go.
I would recommend asking for hi-res photos of any MR Collection Porsche (or any of their other earlier models), before buying - and pay particular attention to the wheels; their tyres are prone to splitting, sadly. Also, the clear resin headlights on MR's very early Porsches sometimes go an uneven golden yellow (to be fair, not uncommon for a lot of manufactures from that period).
I am intrigued to learn that BBR are going back into Porsche. As well as the '73 Carrera RSR, I see that they will also be redoing the 356 in both 1/43 and 1/18.
I forgot to include these 911s earlier:
A couple of very cool pieces by ScaleArt
(photos by MiniScale, to the best of my knowledge)
Another AMR-based gem by Steve Barnett
(Miniwerks photo)
And of course, Rosso43's two recent RWB 911s!!!

Posted - 07/14/2015 : 20:11:38 There is a Garage 43 Porsche 911 Turbo on sale on ebay right now, not very expensive in my opinion.

Posted - 07/14/2015 : 20:08:23 Thank you guys for the advice, and those Garage 43 Ruf Porsches are incredible, now I am inspired! I love the Makeup Porsches I am just hoping they do more 911 variations and they don’t get stuck like BBR doing the same models over and over, and now BBR is doing the 911 RSR( I just saw it on their website) and it would be very interesting to see what they came up with in comparison to Makeup, I was going to buy a 911 "993" Carrera coupe by MR I wasn’t sure of the quality so probably I am going to wait on that one, Thanks again for the advice and photos,
please keep the comments and photos coming!
Thanks again!

Posted - 07/14/2015 : 19:20:45 ^^^^ wow that's a awesome collection of 911's... what it's going to take to get you started on the 356:)
I think you have the best of the bunch with Makeup and Looksmart for production made models. I also like the rally cars from Arena.

Posted - 07/14/2015 : 18:09:24 In my opinion, Make Up's 'Vision' Porsches are absolutely superb! It has been a struggle for me to not buy one of nearly every 911 they have produced so far :o)
A few years ago, Mike had 200 1973 911 Carrera RS models built by Scala43 (in 16 different colour combinations - I bought an "Elfenbien" one), and they were very good.
MR Collection had a range of 911 variants, but their factory built ones seem a little clunky now when compared to Make Up Co. The same with AMR. However, both MR and AMR can be made into fantastic models in the hands of a top builder.
Here are a few of my favourites:
Scala43 Elfenbien '73 911 Carrera RS
(Miniwerks photo)
MR Collection '92 911 Turbo S, built for me by Garage43 (since been sold)
(Miniwerks photo)
MR Collection '92 911 GT2 Evolution, built for me by Garage43 (since been sold - and I have kicked myself ever since!)
Laurent also built a series of AMR Ruf CTR "Yellowbird" 911s
(Miniwerks photo)
(Garage43 photos)
AMR '90 911 Turbo by GT1 Factory
(GT1 Factory photo)
Pair of rare Azarra Auto Models Strosek 911 Speedsters by GT1 Factory
(GT1 Factory photo)
AMR-based Ruf CTR "Yellowbird" by Steve Barnett
(Miniwerks photo - more in Mike's gallery)
Rosso43 did a brilliant AMR early 911 Carerra RS with a Feeling43 engine, but sadly I lost those photos a few years ago.
Just don't get me started on the 356...
