I am almost wetting myself with excitement - a 10 year+ dream has finally come true: a model commissioned from Mr. Barnett, the original master of 1:43 scale open & close :o)

I must add, too, I am ultra impressed with Steve's turn around time. Yes, he has a lead in of many months, but when he says it will be done by a certain date, it is! The guy must be a machine...

Those are the only photos Steve provided me with, Jeremy. I will have some more taken when they arrive in a week or so. They were a detail I specifically asked for and Steve did not disappoint :o)

I'd love to see more photos of the head lights, very impressive piece.

I myself am still waiting for my lottery ticket to pan out so I can go to Fantasy Junction and buy one of the wonderful cars they sell. One really neat thing is they keep their sold cars in the archive so if you feel the need to look at some lusso's or swb's you can head to their website.

The Austin 7 is a Saxon Models kit and the M6GT is from Marsh Models.

For many years, the original M6GT was on display at a museum in Auckland (MOTAT), on loan from Denny Hulme, until a collector in the States finally managed to persuade him to sell it. I saw it quite a few times when I was younger, although it was completely un-restored back then and quite worn. It had a bit of a tidy up before it landed at Fantasy Junction. I must admit, I am still a little bit sad that such an iconic part of NZ's motor sport history is no longer here. The Austin 7 is also no longer here, but at least it is on display in an appropriate place; McLaren's headquarters in the UK.

Fantasy Junction which is less than 2 hours from me brokers some spectacular cars and your set from Steve reminded me of a McLaren I lusted after for many months as they kept adjusting the price. I never pulled the trigger as it was still well beyond my budget but we can dream.

And they even brokered a real one.

Fantastic idea Jono and spectacular job by Steve. Who makes that Austin 7 kit? Looks like Steve added a lot of detail to that one as well.
