Posted - 05/24/2010 : 04:09:35 Did anyone see the price realized on ebay for a LP factory built AMR model(LP plaque and box says Base-AMR?) of a"1/43 Ferrari 250 GTO #77 1.000 km. Nürburging 1964. Assembled by master-builder J.F. Alberca in 1994."Winning bid:$3,050.00! Is this a very rare piece? This is the blue and yellow Norinder car, similar to the photo below.... This one shown is a Remember model of the same car from The Targa Florio(I think)though, and this car has an engine, unlike the LP that was sold(my only photo of this particular car for an example)...

Posted - 05/24/2010 : 15:37:04 I was watchung that auction as well, I think the price went from around $1800 to $3050 in the last 1 minute. I have also noticed that the market for most other handbuilts is very flat right now. There are very few non-AMR/LePhoenix handbuilts selling for high prices, and many selling for bery low proces. As has been said many times on this forum, the rule of supply and demand is ruling the market. |

And the highest bidder is a British collector who always puts very high prices. An explosive mix indeed. |

Posted - 05/24/2010 : 07:53:19 In this case the very high final price is a combination of bidding from two very special ebayers. This is a classic exception. Lucky seller, but by no means a reference final price. |

I love the Remember models,I have 3 GTO's,and some other models from this maker.I have posted a few photos of the GTO's below, sorry for the poor quality,I have only a "point and shake" camera, not great even with a tripod,(or maybe I shake ;-)... ).

I probably confused people the way I wrote the post. The model that sold on ebay for over $3000 was an AMR model,on a LP base and box, built by J.F. Alberca, and had no engine.
I used my photo of a Remember model in my collection to show which car was modeled.I could not use the ebay photo. This was not the model on sale.
Sorry again for the confusion.....

Posted - 05/24/2010 : 05:37:42 However this Remember is fantastic!! i love these models....last month on e bay saw a beautiful Le Phoenix Testarossa metallic grey with red stripes ( fantastic model ) gone for a little less....the GTO doesn't have this value in my opinion..... |
