Hi Jono, you sure do know your Mac's. Thanks for sharing this information. I will check with Chan if mine was based on any particular car.

I think so, Sam, and if Chan did base it on a real car, then it probably would be #053 (although to be 100% accurate, it should have a dark grey interior with a pale blue driver's seat).

I only know of four white F1 Road Cars:
#014 was originally Titanium Yellow, but is now white with GTR bodywork.
#031 is white with "McLaren" decals on its sides and a white windscreen banner (Mike has an AutoBarn version of this one in stock at the moment)
#053 is white - like I said, you could possibly claim that this one is your model :o)
#072 used to be black, but is now white.

Chan did 5 or 6 of these several years back; yours, mine, a silver one - and I cannot remember the other colours now (Papaya Orange, black and red, I think...?).

He just recently did an awesome blue one with black GTR wheels and BMW Z1 mirrors for one of the guys here.

I actually have a couple of M.Fabrik F1 kits (AutoBarn), that are destined for Chan :o)

No, this pre-dates Volcano Orange by many, many years; McLaren called it "Yquem" and it was only ever applied to the final F1, #075 (#038 was repainted to match Yquem as closely as possible). The colour on the model is only an approximation, as McLaren never made the paint code available.

No disappointments there, Sam :o)

I have one by Chan also, a metallic burnt orange colour (like #038 or #075), which I am extremely pleased with!
