Posted - 06/09/2010 : 11:41:46 There seems to be a lot of interest lately in P4's,due I suppose to the upcoming release of the Make Up series of this car.
Personally,I have P4's from BBR,MTL,(derived from the BBR kit),Annecy Miniatures, and Remember,a total of about 9 or 10 models I have not seen much difference between any of them with the exception of the Annecy, which I feel captures the car a little bit better, but like all AMR mastered models, looks slightly more "generous" in size, although the measurements compare well to the actual car.
The MG model,I have seen reported, are the same model as the Remember version. There were also models made by Rotorex(I think),and Another Italian maker (the name escapes me at the moment)that had a lift off engine cover.
All I keep hearing about is the Make Up.While their models are usually very nice,I have heard nothing from anyone on this forum about the series of kits and factory built models of the P4,P4 Spyder, and 412P by Marsh Models that have been released over the last 6 months or so.
John Simons I have seen, has made all the Daytona,Monza, and LeMans cars, and has continued the story through the later modified CanAm cars.
Marsh has always been known for accurate built models with many innovations that has advanced the state of the art,as well as selling kits to build yourself,(or have built for you).I built quite a few over the years.
As their quality has always been good, and have improved over the years,I find it curious that these models are not mentioned in any discussion of models of this car.
I have not purchased one of these models as of yet,and would be interested if anyone is in possession of either a factory built example,or a kit,and their opinion in comparison of the other P4's previously made. The built models are limited to 100 each, and I have probably missed out on most by now,but my purchasing has been slow lately. I have a large collection of other Marsh models, and would be inclined to add their P4,rather than the Make Up if it stacks up well.
Can anyone add more information? |

Posted - 06/10/2010 : 03:32:46 The Marsh P4's are nice! Its difficult to judge from pics, it appears that the side-windows could be a bit to high in the roof, but that might be caused by the angle of the camera.
Would be interesting to have the Make Up, Marsh, BBR and Annecy side by side... (which is certain to happen in my case)
