all wood plate and black color

Today, I got nr.217 Belgian plates with the top down..

(it took a 2 hours drive, but it was worth it!
extremely happy!!

Can't wait to see it Hans! I received confirmation from Bernard Sauvage himself that he did make a USA version in a limited edition of 30 pieces. All USA versions are on Plexi bases and signed by Bernard! The difference between the USA version and Belgium is (obviously) the license plates (USA license plates versus Belgium), the location of the rear view mirror is on the wind screen in the USA version and on the dash of the Belgium version. One other difference is the center lock on the wheels. It is 3 spoke on the USA version and two spoke on the Belgium...
Amazing attention to detail, that Mr. Sauvage captured in both versions......

Top up and one with the top down.

The one with the beige interior is a JPM amr factory build. I sold this one 3 years ago. Wish i could buy it back. Missing it

James

Sorry, James, I've not seen any other examples at all. Also I have no information regarding of how much were made on wooden or plastic base. My example has only hand-written number 11 on the back side of the base.

Did they make a couple versions of this with the Top down? A USA version which was screwed down to a plexi base and Euro version, which was screwed down to a wood base (like yours)?

James

Yes, they did. I have an open top version on wooden base.

Great models! 250GTO is most beautiful Ferrari ever made. Please, note the white car with #9 has chassis number 4219, not 4129 as printed on the base. Also it raced in Laguna Seca in 1963, not in 1964. The 4129 is in fact 250GTE 2+2 - see chassis list in "Ferrari 250 Grand Touring Cars" book by Nicola Cutrera.

Gorgeous models. I have the white JPM/AMR 250 GT LWB Interim as well. One of my favorites in my collection.
