Posted - 10/27/2010 : 12:48:56 Here a little Story from my first Modelcar from Miniwerks,
I have been a Member of the Miniwerks-Forum for a very long Time, I visit every day (and some times in the night :-) I also post frequently, but I had never bought any Models from Mike.
a few weeks ago I got a Newsletter from Mike saying : “Hello Fellow Collectors, For serious BBR collectors, this may be the opportunity of a lifetime……..
so I asked for a List which i got promtley. And in it I found my “Holy Grail” a “BBR / Styling Modelsl 250 Europa Cabrio SM 23”. I personally know only 4 Collectors in posession of this Model
So I made Mike an offer and some Days later I got a reply from Mike stating-:
“you placed the highest bid for SM023, Regards, Mike”
I Paid $$ and Mike sent the model out by USPS on 5.10.2010
The Model arrive at the German Customs on 12.10.2010……..Mike and I checked the Online status but it was stuck in Customs until 23.10.2010
Then today “Ring Ring” ... the post man at my Doorbell, “are you Mr. Steinberg? Yes I am, I have a Parcel from the US for you….”
“YES I GOT IT “
Thank you very much Mike.
Kind regards from Stuttgart, Germany Fred
And here you go....
Just like New....

Posted - 11/05/2010 : 16:21:57 I know that BBR never really did a limited edition of these, so to speak. In other words, they weren't each individually numbered but can anyone guess as to how many of these BBR/SM built? Or maybe someone knows?

Posted - 10/30/2010 : 02:40:11 Its a bad thing for collectors to remake older models!! It would be respecftfull for the longtime clients if the remakes would be in a different colour or car.
Being a longtime collector I am really frustrated about BBR and MR. My treasured old models are being remade for commercial purposes. WHY CANT THEY MAKE NEW MODELS! Because this is easy-money!
Collecting is changing.... not for the good!
More and more I turn to the artisans and I am not alone, looking at inventories and ebay... BBR is getting into trouble. Sales are low, and the number of pre-owned models is growing rapidly, decreasing sales even more! Its just terrible to find out that the model you finally found after years of searching is going to be remade!
Last week I found out that the Ultimate 1:12 kits by Joel Fumey are being remade by another company! I had 1 of 40made... found it after 5 years of searching.. Its a shame!!

Posted - 10/29/2010 : 06:44:50 I suspect they are capturing the colour changes throughout the years. I have seen photos in dark met. red as well as light grey. I believed the partnership with Rainer will be as accurate as they can be. |

Fred, I am afraid I have to disappoint. BBR just confirmed that they will be making it in 3 different colours on leather base for Rainer.
Really? Or are you joking? If you are serious, i wonder if that will have an effect on the rarity of the Fred's version? Maybe not, since his was made long ago and it has the original color scheme of the 1:1. The car is a one-off so, I dont think it went through that many color changes, did it?

BTW, I have a 342 America s/n 0248 from Piranha coming my way. Love these cabriolets. |

Thanks Fred. I see the differences now. Both models\cars are very beautiful but i must say, your 250 Europa Cabrio takes the win for me... Truly magnificent!

Posted - 10/28/2010 : 07:19:21 I have a question for the experts. What is the difference between this 250 Europa Cabriolet and a 342 America Cabriolet? The body styles look similar. Especially the grill shape. Aside from the engine size (one being a 250 and the other being a little bit larger 342), what other differences are there?
