It's looking like Raccoon will actually finish on Bosica's work on the Speedster. I was told it should be ready by summer. There is soo much great detail to the underside of this model that it's almost a shame to build it and hide alot. I think that shows how much Bosica loved what he was doing. If I can get my hands on one I think I'd make it disassembled in some stage of restoriation with the body on a rotisserie.Check it out:

Thanks for posting! Looks amazing. I too can't believe it has finally arrived after so many years. Too bad the yen is at a 17 year high against the dollar!!! |

According to Raccoon, they're not sure if they have enough kits left after the existing orders are fulfilled. That's why it's not advertised on the main page of their site. If you want one, I'd recommend contact them immediately and try to get in the waiting list. I got in the list about a year ago.
And my kit arrived a couple of days ago. I took pictures of the parts - hope you enjoy as I did.

It doesn't have the soft top folding mechanism Trossi mentioned. I remember past Raccoon newsletter (years ago) mentioned about it, so I guess that's something Mr. Bosica didn't finish. The tonneau cover & dashboard padding are in resin cast which I think Raccoon made.
It's indeed an amazing kit. The front wheels and the steering wheel are linked, the seats slides and tips forward. The front suspensions are made of lost-wax casting and look very convincing. I'm very glad I could get one and appreciate Raccoon to make it happen.

Anyone has any news? The kit is listed at Raccoon for nearly a thousand (!) Euros. Surely a masterpiece, but if you add the money to have it build (only a handful of collectors will be able to built such a precious kit themselves properly), it is extremely expensive, |

The softtop mechanics are insane - Jacques Brauer style. Of course it was expected, but still much money. I will go for one too I think. Anyone aware of the release date and limitations etc.? |

Raccoon show me the kit last month in HK.Only thing I can tell at this moment is,the body was casted by nickel.It was extra hard and thin,must buy item! |

Yep... That was expected. But look at all those parts. Everything looks perfect and there are some silly details like seat hinges and working steering. I wonder if the folding soft top will make production. I paid 500.00 for a few of the normal 356 kit's that had the Carrera motor so I think it's a good deal.
I love seeing those pics of Bosica in his workshop too. |

i assume that's the price for the new Speedster kit, not built model...wow that's pretty expensive!! |

I do not understand the Japanese text unfortunately, but I see the figure of 105000 Yen in th text. Thats about 850€ or 1150 US$. Thats a pricetag! |

That model is absolutely unbelievable - real artistry. Looks like I have to start saving as it will cost 500+ US$ easily. This is the ultimate art form of white metal kir engineering. Curious on how many will be made. Have to be quite a lot to make it viable, so we will most likely be able to get one Joe ;-). |
