Posted - 03/19/2010 : 21:03:50 Typical restored version mistake...not always accurate. Always try to get original photos of the original car...not a restoration or "show" car.
Not to be too picky but the glass would look a lot better if it was flush and not a vac form...but it's loyal to the kit...I guess ;)
Otherwise a very pretty build! |

Posted - 03/18/2010 : 16:56:35 Wow! Great model build. This one really got my attention as it is one of only four Ferraris I am missing from my Le Mans collection. I wish I could find a kit to have built.

Posted - 03/18/2010 : 10:03:24 The yellow stripes on the back of the car.... in the kit offers three stripes but as you correctly see there are 4 yellow stripes...
The thin white stripes are a mystery and barely visible but if you leave them off you are wrong and if you put them on..... We agreed to leave the thin white stripes on... but I have no idea why they were on the car?...
Maranello Concessionaires colour scheme is widely known and this is the only one of their cars that I know of to feature the thin white stripe.... very odd!. |

Posted - 03/18/2010 : 09:58:29 This is an interesting debate as reference photos are few and far between.... however, I have this from the Le Mans start and shows clearly (?) the White stripes.... JFA and I debated for a long time on the stripes and decided to add them as they were definitely on the car at the start.....

Posted - 03/18/2010 : 08:17:54 David, as a specialist of the Maranello Concessionnaires, can you tell me if I am wrong when I say that I think the decals are not accurate ?
It seems the blue stripe has no white borders on the real car. I know this is sometimes a problem or a doubt, it's the same with the Swedish 250 GTO for example...

Posted - 03/17/2010 : 03:07:45 My Maranello Concessionaires collection continues.... this 206S Dino is a delight and getting the details correct was a nightmare as the decals in the kit were incorrect... the stripes on the tail are now correct in number and style. JFA did a remarkable job to give me a totally accurate 1/43rd replica of the real thing.. |
