I bet it did!!!

The 550 is also at its best between 5000 - 7000 rpm......such torque!!!!! wonderful!

And...on the older Ferraris like the 308 part of the experience was to master the shift gaiter, it was a lot of fun slotting it in as you went thru the gears. The 308 wasn't as fast as the new ones but that engine shure did come alive when you hit 7-8K on the tach!

My thoughts excactly! I drove the 348, 355, 360 and 430....
The experience with rear-engined Ferraris is wonderful!
To be honest I prefer that also to the front-engined Ferraris

I had owned a 308 for about a year and I must say the one thing I miss the most is the engine note and high rev range, especially nice with the engine right behind you!

although I am a big fan of the paddle shift (i drove both the 360 and 430 with paddles),
the good old fashioned gear lever still is very pleasant to drive with! Gives you more feeling with the car....

i love the manual transmission in that car. its a really well built transmission. even way better than the paddles at the time!

Fred, it was in Holland near OSS.

What a difference in experience compared to the F430.
I drove the F430 last Octobre flat out! feeling its explosive accelleration!!!!!
WOW what a huge step forward to the 360!!! that is what it feels like having 90 HP more
under the pedal!!!!!

Driving the 550 with almost the same power (485 HP) it is impossible to choose which one is favorite because both cars have their advantages......

Let's just say I love them both hahahahahahahaha

Just saw it in Facebook......was it in Germany or in Dutch?
360driver Posted - 03/08/2011 : 12:21:10
excellent! It was fitted with a TUBI-exhaust.
accelleration when driving 140 kmh in VI shifting back to III, full throttle @ 7000 rpm......unbelievable!!!! Before you can blink I was driving 200 knh!!!!!

What did you think of it Mark? Exciting isnt it???
Congrats on the drive!
Nothing like the feel of a V12 Ferrari! The acceleration, the feel, the exhaust note! :-)
