The above text is in Dutch only to understand better what could be wrong with the model, we are both from the Netherlands you see. |

Posted - 05/06/2012 : 06:00:50 Marvelous Loti both, no doubt very good craftsmanship. Just one remark about historical accuracy (if you think that important): the black extension fixed to the radiator you only found on the Gold Leaf cars when these were given the deep air ducts in the nose (Italy 1968 if I am correct). In order to make the nose removable it had to be split in an upper and lower part. The black part which was a fixed insert in the nose on the green cars had to be fixed to the radiator then. For evidence check the Michael Oliver book, for example. Of course, this doesn't detract from Laurent's models: I would be proud to have them in my collection. Harm |

Posted - 04/11/2012 : 07:28:12 It is amazing what a master modeler can do. Thank you so much for posting your wonderful pictures Dreis, especially the close ups. The rivets, shift mechanism, and exhaust springs especially grabbed my attention but so do other details which just keep flowing out of the model each time I view. Looking forward to the Lotus 49.
Cheers and Happy Collecting, Steve |
