Firstly primed and then painted in Acrylics and Oils and finally given a couple of coats of protective matt varnish. I've always been drawn to the human side of F1 and over the years it has produced a rich crop of interesting driver characters who we were always able to identify by virtue of their distinctive helmets or overalls and I try to capture this in my figures. Somewhat easier in the early years, (as there was less corporate branding) and in the late 60's early 70's a drivers helmet was often painted up to represent a personal or national statement. Anyway, enjoy and many thanks for looking, Cheers, Paul More here:http://www.p-m-art.com/

Posted - 07/16/2011 : 04:54:58 Many Thanks Fred and George for your kind comments. Yes Senna appeared to be a very troubled man at Williams - this aspect comes across very strongly in the latest Senna movie which I saw recently - it is indeed a great piece of cinema. He continues to live on for many of us in so many different ways. Kind Regards, Paul

You even put the stress forehead wrinkles on Senna. He carried the wieght of the hopes of his country on his shoulders. The sense of responsiblity must have been crushing for him sometimes. You have the spirit of an artist. Salute to go- figure-it. |
