Well put, and I agree. I struggle with it on occasion and find the best solution is to use as thin a leather as possible [as used in miniature saddles] in combination with a matching dye on the rounded surfaces. Helps maintain a scale look as opposed to a seat cover appearance.
Not much can be done with corduroy ;) |

No argument Peter. Hand builts are an art form and can be very impressive. I'm not suggesting "bargain hunting" for model cars, only that CMC offers a very fine product for a very reasonable price. I have many high end hand builts in my collection and very much appreciate what went into these beautiful models. In regards to the "out of scale" seat material, I might remind you to take a look at many of the hand builts that share the same problem if the seats are covered in a soft material, especially those that have the seats covered in vastly out of scale leather. Bottom line, I love them both, for different reasons! |

A hand built model is a form of art [in my humble opinion] and cannot be considered in the world of bargain hunting.
They do a wonderful job but they are mostly machine made and I have no problem with that. They are simply high end die cast produce in large numbers and some of the details show...like the out of scale seat material ;)

I've had my CMC Ferrari 500F2 from the day it was released, along with almost 40 other beauties produced by them. No problems with any of them so, I'd call this pealing sticker a fluke. Are CMC's models perfect? No, of course not but, they're finely detailed, beautifully finished and, an absolute bargain for the money. At least they're not plaqued with yellowing decals and headlight lens, common on many older hand builts. |

Too bad that cheap sticker they used is pealing off of the dash gauge...that's one of the problems with glorified die cast, they have inherent problems.

So, you're a CMC fan too! Been collecting CMC for over 10 years now and have almost 40 pcs. in my collection. Latest addition, the Ferrari transporter is spectacular but, because of it's size, sure takes up a lot of space!
Enjoy them, they're wonderful!
