Posted - 04/30/2010 : 11:03:45 Laurent never fails to amaze me. He continue to improve the quality of his work and it really shows in his finished models. Here's one of his latest, hope you like it. It's a Ducati 888 in 1/12th scale modeled after a 1992 race winning variation. More pictures to follow.

Posted - 04/30/2010 : 17:45:21 Jono, Yes, it looks real, doesn't it. With Laurent in Singapore and me in the USA I was very concerned about damage but Laurent managed to pack it so securely and cushioned in foam, it made it here intact and that's after handling by our postal carriers(shipped by EMS)who are very rough with packages.

How do you get on with shipping something that delicate, Alan?

Posted - 04/30/2010 : 13:22:23 Glad you like it John. The kit was a 1/12th Tamiya. I really like the way he did a wash on the engine parts to give it a more realistic look. I collect bikes as well as cars. The majority of them are Minichamps which are really decent for the price and some Tamiya factory builts which are better. Of course neither come even close to the detail and quality of Laurent's build. |
