Model Factory Hiro have announced they are doing a Porsche 917LH and maybe a 917K along with a Ferrari 250 in 1/12th scale. More information coming. The 250 teaser photos show a 16 inch cast and plated wire wheel in 1/12th scale. I think it might be a 1958 250 TR. We will see how the cast wheels turn out. They look nice in the photos but I think the machined rim is still missing.

Nice kit. Not for a beginner. :(

I received mine from Hiro this morning and it is amazing. Right off I noticed they put a lip around the engine body opening and boot body opening wich no 64 GTO ever had. Also the tires seem slightly small but still very nice. They did put the Good Year Blue Streaks on the decal sheet and eveything seems to be correct for this warm air induction 64 GTO(LM car #26). I think after assembling the cast wire wheels they look very good. Hiro did not need to make a separate spoke wire wheel set in my opinion. The spokes on the second version are also castvery nicely(very nice castings for both types).

Yes, the "Hippie" car looks very good, but not for me; I want a good kit of a 917K

Looks like a "must build" . My favorite version of the 917L.

I do have an order to build the 64 GTO so this will be an interesting change of gears for me. I should have the kits soon and will give my impressions if anyone cares.

After the building of the Porsche 962 MFH 1/43, I hesitated a long time for a 1/12 kit MFH. But this weekend I had the opportunity to observe the contents of the huge box of the Porsche 917 ...
I could not resist the beauty of this wonder.

But what is surprising when you look at the plans for the 1/12 version and the version of the 1/43 ... it seems that the 1/43 kit is more detailed, more complicated! Probably a simple impression.

I hope that soon I would have time to build this beauty Psychedelic.
In the meantime here is a picture of the monster and the contents of the kit box with to give an idea of size, his little sister at 1/43 somewhere on the picture Lol!

Model Factory Hiro says they will do several more versions of the 250 GTO including a series 1, a Ferrari P4, Brabham Alfa BT46B fancar, Porsche 956, Williams FW16 and 917K all in super detailed 1/12th scale kits.

Hiro says they are having trouble getting the 1/43rd Ferrari F1 kits approved by Ferrari(maybe due to them trying to make the same cars as Tameo??).

F1tommy Posted - 09/04/2014 : 06:53:37
They went back to the seperate spokes and wheel rims on the kit. That should add a few hundred parts overall. If this was made in Europe it would be well over a thousand dollars, maybe even over $1500.00 I bet. Tokyo is not cheap so I don't know how they do it!!

I hope they do the series 1 GTO along with the GTO/LMB using this chassis and motor.

Pricing is announced and under $800.00 retail. Pretty reasonable I think. I am ordering kits so if anyone wants to get on board contact me.

I should have the price this week...hopefully!
