Posted - 08/27/2014 : 08:38:14 Hello everyone. Here is my latest work, scratchbuilding an Aston Martin AM4 1/18 Sultan of Brunei. This car has been on my holy grail list as a 1/43 collector, but since I cannot find anywhere any Ban Seng, which has many many flaws,I decided to start making one from Scratch. It is a really tough job, since I spent about 6 months reading and practising on how to do it. I have plans producing it in about 20 pcs,if there are people who are interested.Every weekend,I will post some of my progress.

Posted - 04/06/2015 : 02:36:32 Hi everyone. I have been noticing some errors of the 3D model based on the real car. Here you can see the mistakes.
The first and basic mistake is the front Wings. I filled with Epoxy putty, then I filled with a mix of epoxy and polyester and then only polyester. I hope you like it!

Using a machine to do the job for you is not modelling in my opinion. We,the modellers, have to fight the machines as a friend told me. But of course, some parts can't be easily reproduced by hand,so it is a good way to have them |

Thank you very much for liking my work. But,which way do you think is the modern one to scratch build a model? I don't think there is one. |

Posted - 03/30/2015 : 11:05:35 Hi everyone,
I have finished the plastic body panels of the Aston. This is a basic shape, and the most detailed one will be made using putty. There are a lot of errors, but everything will be fixed. Thank you for your time!

Posted - 03/18/2015 : 10:25:57 Hi everyone,
I have been away for a long time,so let me update you about it. The model that I was making had some errors that couldn't be fixed easily. So,I decided to design everything again, fix the mistakes and build the model correctly this time. I found some new techniques about the creation and forming of the panels,in order to make everything more accurate. Take a look, and tell me your opinion ! ;)

The next step is to make it "solid". I am going to fill the gaps with different kinds of putty from thicker to thinner, and after the body is done, I will make some castings for the vacuum forming, and then I will dig through the windows, lights and sculpt the inside of them. It will be a curbside model, with w full detailed interior too. |
