I am pleased and very honored to have been asked by the Blackhawk Museums in Danville California, to be one of the speakers in their 2017 speaker series. I will be there on Saturday, April 1, giving a presentation on the 'art and craftsmanship of scale model building'. No it’s not an April fools joke. I really will be there, and look forward to seeing any of you who will able to attend. I think the scheduled time is from 10:30 AM - 12:30 noon....but if you are planning on attending, then I would suggest you check with the museum to confirm the times.

Following quote from their recent Newsletter:

"Our April 1 Speaker Series presentation will be on 'The Art & Craftsmanship of Automotive Model Building' by Marshall Buck. For over 30 years Marshall has been one of the leading specialists in building the finest highly detailed custom built-to-order automotive models in various scales. His talk will cover some of what goes into the making of one-of-a-kind scratch built models, as well as making the masters for his extremely limited edition hand built pieces. From the initial time spent with the real cars to the final product, the process can take a few thousand hours or more to create over the course of several years."

I'll have a few pieces on display, loaned to me from a good friend and client. There will also be a large screen with photos to accompany my talk. And for a well rounded understanding, I hope to give everyone new insights with regard to this art form, and maybe dispel a few myths as well. I will also briefly touch on the works of others including well known current model manufacturers, differences between certain types of models, and a little about collecting.....

The Blackhawk Museum is quite spectacular, and if you have never been, then you really should go.

The Blackhawk Museum has put up the videos. Here are the two links regarding my recent “presentation” on model making, earlier this month at the Blackhawk Museum in California.

The “Video interview” is a very short piece (few minutes) that they shot after my presentation. For that, I was asked specific questions, etc.

The "Full Presentation” itself along with a Q&A session after, is long (a little over an hour)….. The audio volume on this is a little low, so you won't hear audience reactions until the very end.
