No, Mazda Shinari is designed by Ikuo Maeda. He is a new designer by Mazda.

Posted - 03/06/2011 : 07:20:50 I agree the FF will take some getting used to. Many new and different designs begin to look "normal" over time, and maybe this one will also. (sort of like the latest generation of F1 cars with the wide front spoilers) I think there is a slight resemblance to the Daytona in the rear side windows of the FF. I guess it is safe to say that Ferrari would not really care about my opinion of their car anyway as I cannot afford to buy it.. |

Posted - 03/06/2011 : 06:53:20 I know what you mean,250 GTE. I only wanted to say that the FF is not the way FERRARI should go. Like Paolo said its more kind of Maserati to do. Of course a Maranello is not that kind of brutal sportscar,but its 100% Ferrari,like the older Superfast and 2+2's. I know we're not in the sixties and seventies,but the FF has nothing a had Ferrari in the past.You could stick any brand-sticker on it and it wouldn't mind. |

In fact, quite the opposite, since Pininfarina usually choose the more elegant approach. Especially when it came to the larger luxury models like the (vintage) Superamerica's the 500 Superfast and all 2+2's. |

Posted - 03/06/2011 : 00:23:21 There are some cars I like from Geneva Auto Salon: No.1: - Aston Martin Virage (for me by far the most beautiful car of the show. Without doubt!!) No.2: - Mazda Shinari Concept (what a beautiful design!!!!) No.3: - Alfa Romeo 4C (I love it. An alfa on X-bow platform, that sounds great!! Design looks very cool!) No.4: - Lamborghini Aventador & Ferrari FF (I cannot make a choice) No.5: - Renault R-Space & Captur (Very cool design for a Renault!!!!)

Posted - 03/05/2011 : 11:39:08 The FF is an absolutely terrible car.I always loved Ferrari for doing their own thing,great looking sportscars,high-end formula one knowledge,and a great history behind them. Every Ferrari had always been a true,rough,and brutal looking 'piece of art'. The fact they do a four-wheel-drive car dissapoints me most. Thats the way Porsche and Lamborghini go....I don't like the new Lamborghinis after the diablo and also the Porsche's since they are watercooled,build suv's and four-door coupes. |

Posted - 03/05/2011 : 09:12:53 It is the same basic concept (shooting brake two door). It is bound to hark back to the Z3 Coupe, just as any convertible looks like another convertible for the sake of having a fold up roof. If anything, the shooting brake-style brings even more sportiness to the 2+2 range. It fits the GT format beautifully. But ok, to each his own, I am just saying that this car doesn't actually drift away that far from what Ferrari has done since the 125S. |

I can't accept it is a Ferrari car....sorry It's a great idea to put 600 Hp on 4 wheels....it remembers me the famous Group B rally car....but it was better to get it out with the Maserati brand..... |

Posted - 03/05/2011 : 08:33:03 What 2+2 Ferrari has ever looked rough of edgy? 2+2 are exactloy what Ferrari are best at in the roadgoing departement, which is the exact balance between performance and style. And the FF adds usability to that. Yes, I think this car oozes everything Ferrari.
And we have had many examples from the past were Ferrari took a turn from a known concept. Who'd ever could come up with something like the 550 Maranello as a Testarossa replacement. Will, it did and at first, people were dissapointed. Now, the 550/575 are modernday classics.
I love Ferrari for not clinging to one beat as Porsche and Lamborgini clearly are. Sure, Porsche is having a go at other concepts, but the Cayenne looks like a 911 in a offroad-suit and the Panamera looks like a bloated 911. And Lamborghini seems to be longing back to the 80's a bit too much, looking at their new Aventador. Sure, the car will sell but in terms of conceptual development, it is nothing. But then again, that isn't something we would expect from Lamborghini to begin with. |

Still, it looks very "clean" to me, almost german. The older Ferraris were brutal, rough, edgy....

I think it works on all aspects and I like how Ferrari is looking at redefining the 2+2 concept without loosing too much of the Ferrari heritage. It is totally new, but in every sense a Ferrari. |
