Posted - 05/18/2011 : 14:06:20 The 250 SWB was being prepared for the Mille Miglia Tribute at Toni Automobili. Being part of a Ferrari convoy is a great experience: cars in front reving the engine, cars in the mirrors.... |

Just yesterday I managed to have a ride in a 550 barchetta!!! So exciting! I was at a "raduno" near my town. There were 10 Ferrari's: 360 modena, F430 (2x), 430 Scuderia (2x), 458 Italia, 550 barchetta, 575 maranello, 599 GTB fiorano and a California. It was my second Ferrari ride, the first was in a 430 in June 2009.
I was surprised how QUIET the 550 and the 575 were if compared to the others. Of course they had stock exhausts. Unfortunately we had the soft top on which, IMHO, makes the car look almost ugly and it limits the car to a top speed of 120 kph (75 mph).
The owner of the 550 barchetta (only 448 produced) also has: F40, 599 GTB Fiorano, 246 Dino. What a great person!
What a beauty! The sexiest Ferrari of the Nineties! More pics soon!
