Does anyone know if there is/was a 1/43 kit of the 1951 Ferrari 212 Export Vignale Coupe #0092E?
I have decided I would very much like to have a model of 0092E in its restored black/green colour scheme (Pebble Beach, 2010), but I cannot seem to be able to find anything that might be a suitable base to work from. BBR Classic had a factory built one (BC05), but it does not appear that they ever released it as a kit - and in any case, the BBR is perhaps a little bit crude for the level of build I want.
An AMR would be nice, but I do not think he ever did this particular car :o(

BC 5 was released as kit but the TdF car is 0096 E to build 0092 E you have to make a new radiator grill |

Thanks guys. Good to know that BBR's BC05 was available as a kit, but I will need to think about it because I was hoping to have #0092E as a two car set with #0090E - I already have an AMR kit for #0090E and AMR models are usually slightly bigger than BBR. It might be too noticeable if they are mounted together on the same base.

I own the 0090E car from alfamodel

I think you should ask Andrea di Stasio ( son of FDS ) if you can get a kit alfamodel lost the Ferrari license some years ago

I already have an Alfa Model 43 212 (without the "106"), but it has the wrong green. It is a nice enough model apart from that, though.
Steve Barnett did #0090E from an AMR kit a few years ago (Mike offered it to me, but I sadly I could not afford it back then), a gorgeous little model! I have the same kit, which only needs a few modifications such as the grille.
(see the rest of the pictures in Mike's gallery)

Hello Jono. Ciemme 43 have done the 0096E (ECM 1943 I believe) which looks very, very similar to the 0092E. That was the blue car with white stripes #114 driven by Andre Balfar. It was made in 1951 by Paolo Mazzoni and sold to Andre Balfar who drove it in 1957.I am not sure, but Ciemme 43 may have done some kits of this car Jono. In any case Ciemme 43 would be smaller than AMR and AMR may have a higher level of engineering than Ciemme 43.

I was going through some old 4SW magazines and by a chance I saw the Hi-Fi Automodelli Vignale 212 cabriolet reviewed there. It only got 3.5 stars out of 5. Here is part of the description: "kit is first class except for cast wires when photo-etched would make the kit excellent not just good". |

That is an interesting picture of #0090E, Christian, I have not seen that before.
Thanks for the suggestion, too, Steve, I had not thought of Ciemme 43.

Gijsbert Achterberg from Monza Models made a very nice model of 0090E by modifying a Jolly Models model. |
