Jean-Paul Magnette has begun a new series for Miniwerks based on the Esprit43 MM01 kit. This will be a series of 5 models. This 1953 Ferrari 375MM #0378 AM will be light blue metallic with beige interior. Jean-Paul will share his WIP here!

Vac form parts, decals and as usual with Esprit 43, a nice photo-etched sheet with 17 parts for the front air intake grid only; this will look absolutely realistic!

After having drilled all the holes for the accessories, it’s necessary now to make sure the side windows photo-etched parts do fit properly.

The white metal cast is so clean, it only needs a slight sanding to make it ready for painting. The few surface blemishes are corrected with some putty as some porosity is, especially on the left front wing and door. After carefull sanding, the bodies will be ready to receive their primer coat of painting.

The main parts of the kit are painted now. The leather parts – darker shade of beige – will receive a slight weathering to make them more realistic.

One of the highlights of the kit: the photo – etched front air intake grid. Thanks to a cleverly conceived jig, the 16 parts do fit perfectly to give the nicest grid seen in 1/43 scale.

I just tried to imagine Jean-Paul assembling five of those grilles... and my brain blew a fuse.

The main accessories did find their place on the body, the smaller ones will be glued after the body and chassis have been put together to avoid breaking them during the process. Note the new and very realistic front lights; after the turned and photo-etched part have been assembled, a small drop of resin will give a brilliant result.

Last job is to bend the photo-etched handles and windscreen wipers to shape, to glue them and to apply the decals.
