I am in the process of cataloging my collection on a database for insurance purposes and took a closer look at one of my Marsh AC 289 Cobras. I bought the model from Steve Mattero a few years ago. What sold me on the model was an eye popping paint job by some guy named Charlie Spinelli. Anyone on the forum ever have Charlie do any work for them? Is he still around?

Not sure he is still around. Difficult to deal with one on one. Most likely best to go through Steve. He had a close working relationship with Charlie...and perhaps still does. Worth a try. |

I think he is still building but you rarely see his models on the secondary market. He did win a couple of models or kits from me last year, can't remember what they were. I recently picked up an enormous collection in Colorado and drove it back to California. This collector was likely Charlie's biggest customer as there must be over 50 of his builds here. I am looking forward to getting these on the site, I have to say, his build quality is truly spectacular, especially the paint finishes. These have to be seen in person. They will not be cheap but I can guarantee, buyers will not be disappointed, they blow away any factory built models I have seen. Mike, if you have any photos of the Cobra, I would love to see them. |

Thanks Mike, exceptionally clean build. I have to start getting the ones listed here. Many of them are on similar plinthes and no descriptions on box or base so need to do some research first. |

Charlie has been building for many years and is still around. His work is amongst the best I have ever seen, truly superb, and much, much better than many of the well known builders that many collectors rave about. The only problem with Charlie, and I speak from a great deal of personal experience with him, is that he is 100% unreliable, and less than professional in how he deals with any customer.

Well put Marshall. And I would add that when they do come up for sale they should be purchased without hesitation...his paint is that good. |

Ok, finally got to one of the boxes with Charlie's models, many more to come! I spoke to Tom Koury today about Charlie's models. He told me he spoke with Charlie this week and asked if Charlie was still building. Charlie said no, he just cannot commit to due dates at this time. Not to worry, if you get hooked on his work, you will have many choices, just watch this site, and no wait time. There is one little roadster I am trying to identify, it is an Osca but not sure which model. Nothing on the chassis like Renaissance or PM. Can anyone identify this beauty? Mike

I think this might be a 1955 Osca MT4 Roadster. Checking more images. Still not sure about the kit but perhaps PM? |

The Spinelli's are selling as fast as I can list them so I might need to set up a forum thread just to share the photos. There have been some spectacular pieces already "Gone In 60 Seconds". |

Yes, it seems there are still collectors looking for unique pieces and this collection is full of them. I will work on more listings today from Charlie Spinelli. These are some of the ones that sold quickly yesterday. Pics to follow... |
