Dear collectors and model builders,
I have a question and I hope someone can help me with tips and advices. I designed new decals for Aston Martin DBS Ultimate Edition. But I do not have an ALPS printer in home.
I wonder or one of you can tell me where I can print my decals?
Kind regards,
Remco

You could contact BBR...they can get you a source. Most decal printers require a minimum order of 250 sheets. Or, find someone with an ALPS printer to do some sets for you. |

Hi PeterW, thank you for your advice. I will try contact BBR or MR collection. I am afraid they can not help me, because the most companies require a minimum quantity of decal-sheets.

Hi Remco If you have the images in digital support,do what you to print it with color laser copier at any copy shop. Of course, the suport paper, should be transparent for decals for laser copier. The only problem is that the laser copier, can't do the white color.....
Try it ... it's very cheap, and good luck!

You can also use white decal paper and trim carefully. Testors makes decent paper And you can print them on an ink jet. Send me an image correctly sized and I will test it for you. |

Jerry, thank you for your advice. At my work there is a color laser copier printer. I think the cheapest way is to buy decal papers (both white and transparent) and then print the decals at my work. I will split the decals on 2 different pages in Adobe Illustrator (now all decals are on 1 page, special for OKI or ALPS printer), decals with white background on page 1 and decals with transparent background on page 2.
Peter, do you advice me to take Testor decal paper? Are there big differences in quality of decal papers of different brands? I found one from Testors: article code 9203 (contain 3x white and 3x clear decal papers). First I will try to print the decals by myself. If it will not work, I will ask you for your help to make decals for me. Also many thanks for your help and your tips for the right decal-paper.

Those should work just fine. Just be very careful not to touch the ink for a few minutes and then clear coat them a few hours later with a clear lacquer. |

"homeprinted" decals on testor paper are a good and very affordable way of making custom decals, but quality of prints is often not that great, colors kind of dull and they are usually very difficoult to fit on models as they gets very fragile and they want to easily break even if you clearcoat them with clear film. If these don't work for you please contact me we have a printer in Italy that makes an awesome job with great quality and incredible details, down to 0.02 mm. They are not cheap at around $ 30.00/sheet (Italian A4 format) but still cheaper then any alps printed decal I could have find in USA (I was charged $ 140.00 once for one small decal sheet). If you need some samples I can send them to you. |

@DVAmodels
I agree, the printed sheets of mine are not extremely great if I look to the quality.
Next time I will ask you for your help for printing decals in A4 format. 30 USD is not expensive, very nice price!
My next project is to make new decals for Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato "Safety Car".
Kind regards,
Remco
