Here it is the beautiful Ferrari 512S ch.1042 that ran the 12H Sebring race in 1970, with Ickx and Schetty as drivers (dnf 151 laps), based on the HOSTARO resin kit and built in a magnificent way by italian artisan Corrado Crivellaro.

Kit has been deeply modified, first the rear part of the car has been completely rebuilt, some white metal parts have been substituted with little brass tubes(as the lower suspension frame), the suspension has been completely redone using milled and turned parts, so all the rear mechanical area, which is fully visible, appears more proper.

A special decal has been designed to reproduce the exact plot of the seats, wires of nickel from 0.2 mm were used ror the rivets added in various points of the car to have corrected proportion to 1:43 scale.

The exhaust pipes have been constructed in copper, worked in order to make the slightly conical shape, unfortunately all the acetates of the kit were old and yellowed so they have been completely redone, same problem with all the decal set so Corrado redesigned and printed new ones.

At the end also the dashboard has been upgraded by inserting buttons and tools and the steering wheel has been rebuilt using a photoetched central part, the rim in copper and the steering column is an aluminium machined part.

And Here are some pictures of the completed model, hope you will like it :)

Some serious work went into that - and what a spectacular result!

Great to see what a skilled builder can achieve out of such a kit.

The 512s race car is one of my favorites, very nice model!
