Hello all,

My name is Tom and I am posting from the Uk. I have read the stickied post below and have tried to avoid any of the issues listed below and hope my post will remain.

"The Forum is not a place for members to sell, advertise or solicit business of any kind. Please do not list models or kits for sale, do not post links to your ebay auctions, do not post links to other dealer sites or solicit building services from Forum members. These types of posts will be deleted and the person who posted them may be banned from the Forum if it continues."

My father was a modelmaker in the Uk specialising in producing limited edition of 25 mainly Le Mans models from the 50 and 60s.

He has recently died and I have been left with a house full of models which I need to sell in order to instigate some much needed home improvements in order to sell the house.

Some of the models are hand built to a high standard, some of them are standard.

In addition to the handbuilt 43rd scale models there are some beautiful models in 1/18 scale.

There are also a large number of dioramas in 43rd scale. In addition to models there are a huge amount of motoring books.

My question is this: Where should I try to sell these? eBay?

Thanks in advance for any reply,

Tom

Hi Tom,

So sorry about your father.

The post you are quoting was, and still is, to prevent a number of undesirable situations we were experiencing early on.

For what it is worth, however, I see no reason to remove your post, as it is a legitimate query.

While eBay is an option, it can be a slow, expensive and often frustrating way to go, and there are other avenues you might want to consider;
  • There are several Facebook groups where you would be welcome to offer models for sale and will cost you nothing, e.g.: Scale Automotive an Co (In fact, networking social media platforms in general can often be effective)

  • There are several other model car forums that allow members to list models for sale - Scale143.com for example

  • I would also recommend sending Mike McCormick an email: miniwerks@earthlink.net He can provide you with far better advice than I can

Best of luck :o)
