I thought I would start a thread and see what people think of the new Make UP Ferrari 330's that just came out? What they think of them compared to BBR, Remember, MG etc?

Hi James, May be you mean any other model, but Eidolon-Make Up 330 was discussed in every detail here: http://www.miniwerks.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=174 Vladimir |

Yes but i think that James was interested in to personal opinions of who has the model (Make Up) in his hand right now! It's different to discuss on a photo rather than having it in front of the eyes.... I'm interested in these opinions.... |

I have the presentation version of the Make Up 330P4 and I have to say, it is right up there with the standards we have grown accostumed to with Make Up. I am not the biggest connaisseur of 330P4's, so there might be some flaws in the details, but overall the shape of the body seems to be spot on. Even the stance of the wheels (which recieved some critizsm after the first pictures) seems correct to me.
It is a clear example of the modern times in the handbuilt business. Razor sharp models, built to absolute perfection. Downside is (in my view anyway) that it lacks the character of the older AMR/Annecy white metal models, but I suppose you can't have it both ways. |

Yep! Thanks Paolo. That is what i was asking. I wasn't sure if it came across ok? I saw the thread that was posted before but i guess i was curious about what people think of the new Make Up versions who recently purchased them and had them in hand? I have been looking at MG and some of their older 330's and 412's (even though they dont make them anymore). The Make Up quality looks incredible.... 250GTE is correct though. I guess we would be comparing old technologies with newer more modern techs.... Thanks for the responses...

This is green version of Eidolon 330 P4. Does anybody know - was any one of 3 real cars built ever painted in green? Vladimir

Nobody. There wasn't any 330 P4 in green nor in yellow. Yellow and green cars were the 412 P's that were ex-330 P3's sold to customers, but they did differ from the works P4's in many details. To be honest, the Make Up model is completely wrong, just have a look at the front number roundel; to make it comply with the dimensions of the nose they had to make it much bigger than the other three roundels, which doesn't correspond to the real thing. In my opinion the Make Up P4 is not up to the make's standard. |

chassis 0900 is the green David Piper P4/412P. It was built from original parts that David Piper bought from ferrari around 1970.
Its not an original P4/412P that was built by Ferrari, but the car is built from genuine Ferrari-parts, and is not a replica!
Its been raced extensively as a P4.

There is complete story here: http://www.velocetoday.com/cars/cars_69.php But article declared the s/n of Piper's car was 0003 and later 0846, not 0900. Then, anybody knows which car is this one - original or replica, type, s/n etc:
