Hello,
i see more and more F1 test car released by BBR : F60,F10,... I like this kind of test cars because they are often fitted with special devices or are painted in matt black.
But sometimes you can see very strange models: for example a gloss black F60 with a red mose (!).
I know that some parts must be tested at Fiorano but i ask myself if sometimes BBR don't use this "test car" title to sell exotic F1 models ? Why not, if some collectors like those models and i don't want to critic them or discredit some dealers who sell them. Every one of us can collect models he wants, i have no problem with this.
But i can't resist to ask myself this question each time i see a new F1 test car release by BBR: "Is it a real test car or a idea from BBr to make money ? "
For some models you can find a picture of the real F1 test car on the net but it's impossible for others.
Do you think that BBR, with the approval of Ferrari can only release models that have already run on the track ? It's only my opinion but i have some doubts !
So what is your opinion ?
Thanks.

Pat,
Like you stated, there are quiet a few Test Fiorano models released from BBR! Let me start with the 248F1 from 2006.
BBR released the following: 248F1 Test Fiorano, black limited 20 pieces on red leather base. BBR-BG303 S9, 248F1 black test car made for Retromobile 20 pieces. BBR-BGS18 248F1 test Fiorano Jan 2006 30 pieces. All the above are just fantasy versions.
F2008 BBR-C03T, F2008 test version, black front and rear spoiler 50 pieces. BBR-C33, F2008 Test Fiorano, black test model on red leather base 30 pieces. Did those models existed for real! I doubted it!
F60 BBR-C13T F60 Test Fiorano 2009, black front and rear spoiler 50 pieces. Another fantasy model!
F10 BBR-C31 F10 Fiorano test solid black version 30 pieces. BBR-S23 F10 Fiorano solid black model with red mirrors 30 pieces. Another fantasy model!
The only one black F1 test car ever tested at Fiorano was Schumacher in a black F300 in December 1997.
All the above Fiorano Test version are just fantasy models. However, they do look very attractive and I do have some of these in my collection.
Most Ferrari F1 collectors probably buy these fantasy Fiorano models (me included) knowing the have never ran as such on any test track!
It is just a money making business, as long these fantasy models find buyers, there is no reason to stop producing fantasy F1 versions.

Thanks for your reply Wolfgang. I'm agree with you on the fact that some fantasy models are very attractive: F2008 in matt black for example.
A+
