hello everyone
I'm new here. Recently I like the ferrari 250 GTO very much. The AMR kits are very good. Among those AMR kits of the GTO, which do you think is the best? Maybe it's a silly question.

It's not silly, it's difficult.
There are a lot of different AMR 250 GTO kits, but there are also maybe better NON AMR kits, so do you like 250 GTO or AMR?
Are you going to build this kit yourself or does someone else build it for you, AMR kits need some changes en better parts to be used.
For example exhaust-pipes are not the best, later kits of other brands have more realistic ones, the vacuform windows are also not 100%.
More recent AMR kits are better as the older ones in the large polystirene boxes but the most recent kits are less good, so I always look for the kits in the square brown boxes with the purple AMR seal and the modelnumber on the edge.

Good luck!!

I let recently build the Ilario kit036 it's very nice but also not for sale anymore, just like AMR.
The best kit is in my opinion the Make Up super kit.

Thanks for your answer! At present I have an early X-AMR kit of the GTO,it's beautiful but it's a little different from the later Andre Marie Ruf kit in shape.

The Ilario GTO is indeed very good but the kit is sold out. The builds are very nice too. Regarding AMR I agree that the newer kits must not be nescessarily better. As I dont own a 250 GTO by AMR I also just can say what I see on pictures. The Make up version is extremely detailed but the shape doesnt appeal to me.

If you succeed in finding one, take a MOG kit.
If you want an excellent factory built, look for a NESTOR.
Both of them french..

AMR kit 5000 in the old foambox ( and off course also 5001 and 5002 ) is by far the best 250GTO kit available. For me even better than the make up kit ...
Problem is finding one...and if you find one they will go big $$$
But be carefull with reproductions, i heard some guys are redoing them...

will post pics if i find them

The red one is limited to 100pcs ( base AMR Kit 5000 )
The Silver one is a serie presse ( 10 pcs only )

These two are from the very early nostalgia amr kits. Magnificent builds by Jean Paul Magnette

I agree with Collin, the best AMR kits are the kit ref 5000, 5001, 5002.But the kits ref 31 and 60 are very good too.

here is a 250 GTO using 2 Amr kits : the kit ref 5001 for the shape and the pieces of the old amr kit of the race version Spa 1965.

Have you got pictures from the back of 5000, Collin?

Thanks...

Thats very interesting as both are factory builts. I would have expected clear guidelines from AMR for the factory builts. The JPM wheels look if they were painted matte silver and the PINEL ones seem to be stock or polished. But thats individuality in the handbuilt world :-)
