AMR Ref. 462 in the old foam box is by far the best kit available of the California. As Piero says, they show up on ebay from time to time at surprisingly reasonable prices compared for example to the 250 GTOs at the moment. A must have for every AMR and Ferrari connoisseur in my opinion.

Really sad they never made the open headlight version as a kit. Maybe Minerva43 has a pity on that version, lol. I always wanted the von Trips car (2537GT) as a white metal model. And destroying an AMR factory built isnt my style.

But thanks guys for the tips you offered......it turns out that it was closer than I thought:

I know that model from pictures and only can congratulate you on the ownership, Piero. Realy beautiful, but its not an AMR #462 isnt it?

Beautiful California pierotecchio63!!! I heard that MOMO makes some incredible pieces. When was this built? Does MOMO make these models present day?

Yes, he does. But he has been hospitalized since last October for the broken knee by the bike accident according to his blog.

Good news! Now, Momose is out of hospital.
(I don't know him personally.)

stunning. For me the standout features are the interior and the tail lights - he makes it look real somehow

From what I have seen of Momose's work, he most likely cast his own tail lights...

Since I had this model I tried to figure out how the tail lights were made, but couldn't understand.
In any case really wonderful. One of the best items of my collection.
