Beautiful! What decals did you use? I have this Bosica kit and would like to have the same livery. |

Very nice work on them all. You do know these were pre A 356's with either a split window or a kink in the front window? The #153 car was a low roof split window. The Bosica is a 356 A. 914joe is the expert on these 356 model cars in my opinion. Since I did decals for the #162 car I noticed a few decals missing off the BBR/Project 43 sheet(the Carrera Panamericana lettering down the top of the windows)
Keep the Pan Am models coming.

You are correct, they are both split window cars. Lot's of information here:

Very nice work Jerry...I have seen the window oversight from a world renowned builder. It happens and doesn't take away from the work you have done here. BRAVO!
Did you use the Bosica hinges? I have on the 356 kit and they work just fine. |

Here is a photo of my Porsche 356 pre A in 1/24th scale using the Fujimi 356A and Scale Designs decals. My model should have more of a kink than it has in the windshield but not a split.

Thanks for the links. The Canada sponsored cars ran in 1951 and 1952 with a Hudson Hornet, then in 1953 as a blue metalic 356 pre A and finally as a 550 in 1954. One thing we found researching was that the 550 was goldish colored not silver. Here is a link I try to update over at Ferrarichat on the original 1950-1954 Pan am race. Photos of all the above cars are in the thread.

Nice work!!! You were just looking for that decal sheet a week ago and now it's finished... Way to go!!!
Peter, that 153 car was an aluminum car which had those vent windows along with a few other differences.
Tommy, Make some 1/43rd decals already |

Thanks, Erik. The time has led me to build the kit has been 8 days with time spent with the construction of other kits

I would be interested in purchasing some decals to go with my Bosica kit. I am trying to get some decals made from a scan of the originals for a different kit as well. Another forum member is trying to help me, but he is in Germany and I would love to find some additional options. I dont think Mike would have a problem with this concept, but I defer to him always if he does. |

Thanks a lot Tom I am not an expert on the Porsche 356, I'm just a lover of good models in 1 / 43, and the truth, I have learned many things today with your comments. By the way, I have seen the decals in 1 / 24 scale, and are great but have a bug to be corrected, at # 162. Where it says, ASCOCIACION Should be put, ASOCIACION. .-)))

Thanks Peter Indeed, I used the original hinges of the Bosica kit. They are magnificent, but must be handled carefully because they can be folded easily.
I think this Superkit, who by the way dates from 1983 is the best I've ever had in my hands. .-)))
