In the history of Ferrari, the biggest engine (6.9 l), is poorly documented. For the serious modelbuilding it dosn't promotes. Today, the Body (0866) exists in the collection of Mr. Dusek (USA). However in a very different kind. The idea was the model of the beginning of the 69 saison. Like the other models (300 SL and 250 GTO), it is a scratch building. In one picture you can see the difference in proportionality, between a series kit and the scratch. I cannot understand this, so you can read the original dimensions in some books. You can see the model in various stages of advance.. The complete model will come in a few weeks.

Very impressive work! I can see the body dimensions look much better than other kits. Is this model one-off or a small series? I am excited to see more. Thank you for sharing. |

Nice work here but lets not forget there is a certain amount of artistic license involved in 1/43 scale models. It isn't always how precise to the original dimensions one is. That is [IMHO] the reason why CAD models to me look so "stiff".
I remember back in the day when AMR was accused of not being 1/43 scale [but larger] and some of the shapes were not quite accurate. Yet, his models are the most sought after in the world and are a thing of beauty in most cases. He had a very good eye for 1/43 especially when you consider when viewing these models you are rarely an accurate 5' off the ground ;) Other things change when a car is scaled down.
And the model displayed here is a work of scratch building art ...no question! However, it does look a tad wide and slightly heavy to my eye in 1/43.
Here's the car after it grew some wings later in the season [thanks to the trend that McLaren started]

914...that's a good question. I do see castings appear in the photos but it says it is a scratch built model. Perhaps he will explain. |

Great build quality. Those castings do look almost perfect.

I don't question the accuracy. You are missing the point. I refer to the artistic eye...not critical of the work he is doing, which looks quite good.

Here you can see parts of the rear axle- it's difficult to realise them. To bring the wishbones, trailingarms and stabilizer in the correct size. Actual there here is no shockabsorber. He comes later. All must be in accordance with the original and all times the rear bonnet has to fit together.
