Posted - 11/20/2016 : 09:30:21 I've just cleaned a bunch of old Solido's and I've also used this on some of my built models. Q-tips with windex and kleenex. Make sure you soak the q-tip and you can dry the surface with another untreated q-tip and/or the tissue. Works wonders.

Does anyone use an air blaster / lens cleaner like this;

I'm curious if this is safe to use around the headlights on bbr 1/43? Is the paint around the headlights very secure?
Thanks! |

Posted - 03/01/2013 : 22:52:32 Hello Abel,
i had to remove the wipers for cleaning up the model. If you look close inside the Model you will see that the front seats come off. This is why i have to remove the Base and the complete interior also.
Here some better pictures for you.

Posted - 02/28/2013 : 09:21:34 I do a lot of Restaurations on older BBR Models, i use several products. I swear of my 3M products. I use to polish a Model a finish polish for scale 1:1 Cars :-)

Posted - 02/26/2013 : 14:45:37 Yes, no problem. I use the Tamiya wax several times on really dirty model cars and there was never a problem. It is not a wax like a car wax. It is wonderful to clean model cars.

Posted - 02/26/2013 : 08:02:39 Don't attempt to "clean" the model with wax...you could grind the dirt into the surface. Use some distilled water on a piece of paper towel first and damp dab the surface to remove all of the dirt. Then it should be safe to apply a wax. Any Carnuba wax is fine.
If the windows are vac forms they can be polished. If they are acetate [like most BBR models] do not apply anything...it will ruin them. Distilled water is safe. |

I use Tamiya Modeling wax. It is very good to remove dust and dirt from model cars.
