The Cannonball was a kind of protest against the new very strict traffic laws and the new speed limit (55mph). The Sebring car (#14065) belonged to Ron Spangler who sold it with a buy back contract to Kirk F White for him to race the car at Sebring 1972.
The engine of 14271 had already been send to Traco for race preparation and to be fitted into 14065 which was being prepared for racing by Holman & Moody. 14065 engine would be kept as back up spare.
Wow .... You're right. I consulted my book of Christian Huet and indeed, the Sebring car is the #14065. My apologies ....

Hi Piero Indeed, this is the same car used by Dan Gurney at the Cannonball. In this case, the decoration is for the Sebring 12 Hours 1972 David Hobbs - Skip Scott (47 th.place)
