Started this a few weeks ago with hopes of finishing for the Ferrari expo in Chicago next month. Porsche 550-03 as raced in the 1953 Carrera.

Using a BBR body I hollowed the inside, removed the dash & tonneau and scribed the panel seams deep to remove the panels. You can see light thru the door seam in this pic

Once the doors were removed I made a dash shaped from bondo and a brass dash face.

Even when you already know this is 1/43, the epic detail in this scale always seems to have a much greater impact when you see a human hand next to it.

Thanks Peter!!! Not nerve racking but fun:) I amaze myself what my shaking hands do... It is apparent in that vid that my left hand has its limits:)

Now painting is nerve racking:) It's amazing how a little paint throws off tolerances. Looking good!!! Black is beautiful!!!

Very cool Joe...albeit a little nerve racking ;)

So the steering is linked...KUDOS!

The Bosica 356 is at that stage where just a tiny bit too much paint will disturb the panels so it's been slow going. Finally into assembly.

^^^^hahaha... Yup, a small collection of 2... That's all I can handle, they're expensive to maintain:)

I knew if you were to have a teddy it be custom:) I'm surprised it's not 1/43rd:)

Thanks Tommy!!!!

I see you collect little humans as well...

Actually, I do happen to have one teddy bear - this little guy is only 1.75 inches tall!

hahaha^^^^ I bet they'd be some cool teddy bears.

Thanks for kind words!!! I thru everything I had at this one with lots of tiny details on top of tiny details. There are details that are hardly seen but from the right angle... I love this stuff!

my stuffed animal collection... can't outdue me:)

Now if that does not sweep the prize pool of every competition/display/etc., that it is entered in, then it is time for me to give up models and start collecting teddy bears instead...

^^^^Thanks Peter!!! I could use one of your display cases if you have any extra for sale.

Finally finished... Still dirty and needs a good detailing but everything fits:)

You are a cheat, Joe - you used decals instead of hand painting those logos like the guy in that picture

I tried:(

Make up head lights, Bosica blinkers

Steering works... I fused everything together with a tiny misplaced drop of glue...I was tempted to leave it with no steering but ended up tearing it apart and re-doing it.
