As everyone knows, I carry a lot of consignment models from private collections every month and these models are mixed in with my own, brand new stock from BBR, Make Up, etc. In some cases, you have to click through page after page and read the descriptions carefully to see what is "brand new" vs "mint from private collection". In an effort to clean up the site and make the shopping experience easier, I am considering a link on the homepage that would take shoppers to a Miniwerks Consignment site nearly identical to the main site but a lite version without the forum, gallery, partner links, etc. just very simple, easy to navigate listings for private collection models. The other option would be to create new brand categories such as BBR Consignment, Make Up Consignment, etc. so all models are represented on one site but sorted by new vs previously owned. Or maybe this is not an issue for most of you and I should leave everything the way it is. Any thoughts?

For me, everything is clear, allready. You always specify when they came from private collection, good enough no ?

Mint from private collection is sufficient....

Separate heading may be helpful so individuals can see 'Private' stuff as opposed to 'New'

Also an icon "new" for new stuff could easily distinguish them from the old private stuff. I've seen some using such e.g. yellow or red icon to be used with the title when the stuff is new. So it would be easier to see quickly which are new without reading the whole description first and still keeping them all together.

Thanks, maybe I am worrying about it more than I need to. Adding a lot of Make Up models today and they are all brand new!

There's a very simple solution for your consignment stock, Mike. I'll e-mail you with the details, but basically I suggest creating another 'manufacturer' called "Consignment" and all that stock can then be accessed as a class of its own, just like any other brand - and that way everything can be kept together on your site.

Jonathan,

I am not sure that consignments items should be placed in one category like any other brand as Mike will have models on consignment from different brands.
If he has for example 150 BBR's and 10 AMR's on consignment, the customer will have to find the AMR's within 160 models !

I suggest to create subcategories under two main ("new stuff" and "used") or to simply add a logo "private collection" or "new" as suggested above.

Only my eurocent, though. ;)

I have decided to leave the listings and categories as they are now. I will just continue to differentiate new from consignment in my listing descriptions.

Mike, you are right to leave the listings and categories as they are now.
My only remark is to have the wording "brand new" in a bold type.
John
