Hi everybody, nice thread. Beautiful car. Wrong model. I am not collecting anymore since a very long time....but, apart from this, I would not buy this model. I am a bit surprised by the mistakes this model has. Front air intakes totally wrong -- easy to verify this with the great shot of the real car during the race. The "round shape" is up and not down. Too the model is too low on the tyres. Have a great week-end buddies. Paolo |

Incorrect ground clearance is one of the most annoying features of the photographed model. |

E' cannata di brutto!
Anche l'assetto è sbagliato! Also "wheel alignment" is wrong... |

Say what you will, this is by far the best 330 P4 I have seen from any manufacturer. Paolo, show me a better one! Don't be shy. Have you done this model? I would love to see your interpretation. I hope it is better than many of the models I have seen from your shop. Where do we begin. Oh, I almost forgot, have a nice weekend "buddy" |

Almost forgot my point about hypocrysy, Paolo you say you would not buy this model but somehow you had no problem selling thousands of models that had at least the miniscule inaccuracy you point out in this P4. Apparently you have no problem profiting on inaccuracy but won't buy it yourself. Says a great deal about one's character wouldn't you say? We have a saying here in the US, those who live in glass houses should not throw stones. Think about it my friend. |

Besides that, I fail to see what's so 'clearly' wrong at the front. Sure, the model may sit a little too low on it's wheels, but it doesn't bother me at all. It doesn't take away anything from the gorgeous model. And even if it did, there is so still so much to admire.
It has been a long time since I have felt such a strong desire to add a completely new model to my collection.
Make Up have risen the bar for every model they have done. This 330 P4 is no exception.
(and no, I am not affiliated in any way to Make up :-)) |

I agree what Mike stated about the MakeUp 330P4. It may not be 100% correct, but which model is? I personal like the looks of the MakeUp 330P4. It defiantly is the best 330P4 model ever made so far!

Being a P4 freak,i can't agree on being the best yet... The P4, with all its curves, is one of the most difficult shapes to get right.
The feel/spirit of the modell is really good, and there is allways "something" wrong. In 1:43, the AMR/Annecy was the best in shape uptill now.. The stance of the Make Up is okay, allthough it could be a litle higher.
The MG 1:43's P4's are also quite good, I suspect that they ware made using older masters.
Have to see it "live" make a good judgement, please, send me one right now Mike! (preferably the nr.19 car)
There are only 2 perfect P4's ever made. The Ultimate 1:12 by Joel Fumey, and the one Patrice de Conto made.

Here is another angle to consider, regarding any possible 'accuracy' issues with the 330P4 (or on any model like this, for that matter)...
I have never laid eyes on a genuine 330P4 - and very sadly, I never will :o( So, unless it is a glaringly obvious error, how am I going to know if the the openings in the nose are not exactly 101% correct? I have no real-world experience with a such a wonderful subject (other than fantasies fueled by pictures), and no genuine example sitting in a nearby museum with which to compare the model I will be buying. Now, I may be wrong here, but I suspect I am not the only collector in the world who has never seen a real 330P4. Or a 250 GTO. Or pretty much any vintage Ferrari... This means that even though I like my models to be as accurate as humanly possible, I will still be utterly delighted with Make Up's new release, regardless of unqualified opinions - because it looks absolutely spot-on to me! And I would imagine with a great deal of certainty, that the speed with which these sell out will prove what everyone else thinks of them, too.
But, hey, what would I know? I only collect these in 1/43 scale.
It is not my intention to offend you, Paolo - and if I have, then I apologise. It is just that I am a huge fan of Make Up's Eidolon range and I felt I simply had to counter your opinion with my own.

The MG Model is nothing but a re-badged Remember model, nothing more nothing less. The Remember was mastered using a mix of Annecy and Brumm (yes!) pieces and I think it is still quite good, after so many years. My personal favourite remains the Annecy, though I'm looking forward to seeing Brauer's interpretation, coming out next autumn. |

I have seen P3/4 0844 more than once, but I can't tell you if the shape of 0844 is 100% accurate, it was rebodied in the 1980/90's..
To make things even more complicated, lots of people think that the shape of P3 and P4 are similar, which isn't so, they are totally different!
Annecy, AMR, Remember are the best in shape, but they were made in the 1980's so I am certain the Make Up will be better in detail.
I am very happy that Make Up is starting to make classic Ferrari's, allways wondered how good they would be.
Fascinating discussion!
