What is the name of the 3D software you use for designing the Breadvan?
Kind regards,

Looks pretty good, but more like the restored version than as it ran at Lemans in 1962. The clear engine cover was painted on the front section and the dashboard was different in 1962. I think the real nose is a little longer, almost to long and awkward. Still a nice effort. You tried to make it pretty and more GTO like in the nose wich is ok since it looks better. I am going to post a few photos of the car at Lemans in 1962 on Ferrarichat |

I prefer the restored car myself, and the full clear hood bubble. If you have the book Rebel Rebel [a must read IMO] it charts the entire history of the car. The bubble was clear during practice and the center nose cutout was added for the race. It also sported the GTO type steering wheel and the dash was modified form the 250 GT CH 2819 that was it's original chassis. I plan to use the GTO steering wheel on my prototype build.
Note the "lean" of the rear...I think it hits the mark, It is way to subtle on most of the other attempts I have seen. Not sure it even exists on the 1/43 BBR examples. Pretty sure Suber got it right with his Minerva43 kits.
The nice thing about this process is the 3D drawing is the "master" and can be changed if I want to make changes once the prototype is done. |

You could make several versions, but all the pre 1965 versions had the early dashboard. The Rebel Rebel book is a good read but lacks really good pre 1965 historical photos of the car. I was surprised about that. |

Yes...also reading about the black car which was apparently painted that way as a joke and they ran out of paint which explains the red nose art. Not sure it was ever a "test" car.
The dash is still a bit of a mystery to me so if you have photos of the early dash that would be helpful. |

I see the dash from the outside...it simply lacks the center bump for the larger gauge as far as I can tell. I do prefer the nose on the restored car ;)
Fred Suber got the dash right on his 1/43 version, The partial bubble on the hood was "as raced", full glass pre race so not sure what I will do since I just love the restored version...in my opinion the best looking car except when it runs with those awful exhaust dumps out of the sides ;)

I really like what you are doing. Your modeling skills in 3D are pretty great, I do not think this is the first you do with it? Renders look good too, also take some experience to get those right I think.
Some comment: at first I thought the roof was too flat, too much like a straight line when viewed from the side, but going by the looks on the photographs that is quite OK. I do think the roundness/fillet on the rear fenders and roof are to sharp, they should be more rounded to my opinion? |

The dash prior to 1965 looked more like a GTO series I dash. I only have 2 poor black and white photos of it. I put up a request on ferrarichat for photos. I know someone on there has one, and I hope they will post. It is completely different then the present dash. I also agree the tops of the rear fenders should be more rounded.
My rule number 1 is to never model a car as it is restored incorrectly, but only as it was during it's racing days. You are so close on this one, make it 110%!!!! And offer kits :) |
