I wonder the following
are we talking about a 1:1 or 1:43 data base ?
1:1 ferrari is a minimum of 800 cars , if you take all differences you will have 2000

model data base
only ferrari ? factory built ? or do we include kits and models built form people like fred suber , built up models and so on
is enzo one car or do we include all models in different colors from BBR ( more than 100 )
I have a list with every factory built BBR ferrari including all the colors , different bases , limited edition for shops and so on . this list contains more than 2500 models

the best list about ferrari 1:1 you can find inside the cavallino magazin
every car is listed including year and first chassisnumber

Um... I thought we were talking about 1/43?
(And primarily only the 'major' manufacturers at this stage.)

We should talk only about 1/43. This is not a forum for real cars. The database has to be as simple as it can. There are other sources for real cars.
First we should speak about the concept and all safety relevant things. It is very important, because to maintain a database takes a hugh effort and it is only succesful, when one person makes it. In our case it is simply not applicable. Therefore one manufacturer should be maintained only by one person. I have a list of Looksmart Lambos, I am also able to maintain all the Looksmart Lambos. Christian has the list of BBR Ferraris, so he could responsible for BBR Ferraris. There are other collectors, who have only AMRs, they could be the right person for AMRs as well, etc. If somebody has such a model, which is not on the database, then he should contact the responsible one directly.
For me safety is very important, because when I click to a Lamborghini Miura SV by MR, I do not want to find diecast Toyotas as advertisement below. So I would not alloy to everybody maintain the database and upload pictures.
What we have to do is to declare the modelcar manufacturers, who should be in the database, for example BBR, MR or even the builders like Bauer and co. as well. Then the responsible person should be choosen for each manufacturer. If it ok, then the database can be declared and after we have the database, we can start to fill it :)
other ideas?????

I began to work on this list around three years ago . I did it just for FUN . collecting models is nothing else for me than FUN . I am shure the list misses 50 or more models . I have pics for almost every special model from the list and

I will not post the list here or somewhere else and I am not interested in selling the list

sorry if there is a missunderstanding

I would like to make it clear that my wish would be to have a data base to provide information to let me know what Ferrari's have been modelled. I will know they are available and can then make a decision whether I want to add them to by collection.

Secondly I was hoping that with our combined knowledge of 1:1 Ferrari's we could include those Ferrari's that have never been modeled whether they be production road car, customer car, stradale or one off styling exercise. I think this second part could be a very good source for we collectors to discuss and make our thoughts know to manufacturers that may visit this site about what cars we would like to see them model.

I can say from personal experience that it does happen. For 35 years I wanted models of Tom Meade's Thomasinas. Well I posted a photo from the cover of Road and Track here on the Forum I had keep for 35 years and lo and behold, I got my wish when Ilario modelled two of them.

X-Man I have no problem separating the information into four data bases. I thought to combine the production, one off and customer bodied cars because the start with particular Ferrari chassis. It will get pretty complicated with all the customer cars from the 40 - 60's. As we know a single Ferrari chassis would be bodied by Pininfarina, Vignale, Bertone etc. and as coupes and cabriolet. Even with as many Ferrari books as I have, it can get pretty confusing as to which carrozzieri built what and when and on what chassis number....but I want it because I want to collect the complete Ferrari story.

MR/Looksmart are the same car in different colors.
I have the black Looksmart which says its 0721SA on the plaque.
In fact its 0715SA!

I also have a Burgundy MR 410SA (fixed open) built with exactly the same details. In reality every 410SA is unique with different details.

MR got a bit creative with paint...

Thanks Hans. I have seen a couple of these lately and was wondering if they were fantasy colors or real colors to the 1:1 versions. Thanks

I thought the burgundy car was 0499SA, but the MR modell has no driving lights in the grill..

0487SA is a kind of mystery-car for as far as I know
(I could be wrong of course..)

Hey Hans. Actually 0487SA is blue with a black top (MRB01)...
No side vents, no fog lights. Looks sort of like a 250 Boano.

Does anyone know the real serial number to MR Collection MR55 - Ferrari 400SA?
I recently started investigating this car and out of all the 400SA Cabriolet's that i found, only one matches MR55 a little bit but not completely. The 400SA i found is right hand drive and has a competition gas filler cap. MR55 does not have either.
MR55 seems to match 1737GT Ferrari 250 GT Speciale without bumpers and without hardtop. I "THINK" that MR Collection may have screwed up on the label of MR55 as a 400SA when in fact it is a 250 GT Speciale 1737GT without hardtop and bumpers? This 250 GT Speciale shares features of a 400SA cabriolet and this might be why MR Collection may have misprinted the label???
MR38 is a Ferrari 250 GT Speciale with Hardtop and with front and rear bumpers. Perhaps they made a "revised" version of this car without bumpers, without hardtop and corrected front end, in MR55?

I have tried to contact MR Collection about it but they didn't help at all. They said it was made after a 1:1 scale car but they have no serial number for it. Anyway, if someone on this forum has more information on it, please chime in. I'm pretty certain though, that MR55 is in fact s/n 1737GT -1960 Ferrari 250 GT Speciale "without" front and rear bumpers and Hardtop...

Thanks Christian! Precisely my thoughts! I think that MR Collection messed up on the label for MR55. I am almost certain MR55 is in fact 1960 Ferrari 250 GT Speciale s/n 1737GT without bumpers and hardtop... Label mistakes happen but i think this makes this car that much more appealing to me. I love 1737GT!
