Here a little Story from my first Modelcar from Miniwerks,

I have been a Member of the Miniwerks-Forum for a very long Time, I visit every day (and some times in the night :-) I also post frequently, but I had never bought any Models from Mike.

a few weeks ago I got a Newsletter from Mike saying : “Hello Fellow Collectors, For serious BBR collectors, this may be the opportunity of a lifetime……..

so I asked for a List which i got promtley. And in it I found my “Holy Grail” a “BBR / Styling Modelsl 250 Europa Cabrio SM 23”. I personally know only 4 Collectors in posession of this Model

So I made Mike an offer and some Days later I got a reply from Mike stating-:

“you placed the highest bid for SM023, Regards, Mike”

I Paid $$ and Mike sent the model out by USPS on 5.10.2010

The Model arrive at the German Customs on 12.10.2010……..Mike and I checked the Online status but it was stuck in Customs until 23.10.2010

Then today “Ring Ring” ... the post man at my Doorbell, “are you Mr. Steinberg? Yes I am, I have a Parcel from the US for you….”

“YES I GOT IT “

Thank you very much Mike.

Kind regards from Stuttgart, Germany
Fred

And here you go....

Congratulations Fred, I am very happy that German Customs did not take the model for a joy ride! Mike

congratulations Fred,
I saw the model on the list, and knew it would be useless to bid...

Fantastic to get something you had been searching years for.

Mike's the best when it comes to mailing!

Congrats Fred! Very Beautiful model. I have never seen this model before, until now.
It is great to watch Mike's website because you never know what new models he will get for sale. There are a few on his website, that i have seen, that i never even knew existed!
Gotta Love it ;-)

I have a question for the experts. What is the difference between this 250 Europa Cabriolet and a 342 America Cabriolet?
The body styles look similar. Especially the grill shape.
Aside from the engine size (one being a 250 and the other being a little bit larger 342), what other differences are there?

Thanks Fred. I see the differences now. Both models\cars are very beautiful but i must say, your 250 Europa Cabrio takes the win for me... Truly magnificent!

Me first Hans!!! Just Kidding! LOL
I hope it is ok to post this link. I never knew this model existed or the real car. Looks like only 1 of the 1:1 car was ever made! Truly beautiful!

Great model. Always such a joy to add your holy grail to one's collection. Now time for a new holy grail :-)

BTW, I have a 342 America s/n 0248 from Piranha coming my way. Love these cabriolets.

Fred, I am afraid I have to disappoint. BBR just confirmed that they will be making it in 3 different colours on leather base for Rainer.

Really? Or are you joking?
If you are serious, i wonder if that will have an effect on the rarity of the Fred's version? Maybe not, since his was made long ago and it has the original color scheme of the 1:1. The car is a one-off so, I dont think it went through that many color changes, did it?
