You're right, it's the Mythos line from tecnomodel with black plastic base instead of aluminium base.

Few weeks ago I had 458 Italia in grey colour - it was quite nice, but it really did not shock me with its quality. The price was 99 EUR so quite reasonable but I immediately got rid of this piece. Hard to decide what is good to collect right now... |

RGM's are all made in Italy! My last was the 250 Zagato 'Lee Harrington' in silver, and its perfect! Like you I prefer Make up for the modern Ferraris,I have a lot of them! If I'mhonest I try to avoid the concept series, but on the other side I'm waiting for years now to get a good looking F355 and 308 GTB,so whats the alternative? My last purchases were all older BBR's,Ilario's and MR's,thats my way to go now! The best buy on new releases for classic Ferraris is RGM!
Thanks, I`m just a bit confused on how to recognize the newer RGMs. Sometimes there is the red leather base of course, but I donīt think this is an exclusive feature of RGM models only? On the plaque on the base there is no mention of it being an RGM special (I think only early RGMs hava that, right?). So, how can I know if a limited BBR is in fact an RGM?
Ciao,

Current RGM's can be identified by the red boxes, and tags on the bases.
Best reference is the RGM website, or right here!

Ah, the red boxes? Thatīs very good to know, thank you! My very first RGM will probably arrive within the next days, so Iīll have a look to see which tag on the base you refer to.
Iīm very happy you recommended this forum to me Hans, since I feel happily surrounded here by helpful and knowledgable collectors from around the world - a great place for a starting amateur like me!

Well, I'm so lucky that visited BBR factory many times, both old and the new one on the outskirt of Saronno, where met and spoked with BBR chiefs - Alberto Balestrini and Fernando Reali. So I can say that all BBR models - except Concept and large 1/18 die-casts - are produce in Italy. Vladimir |

Regarding the 1/18 diecasts BBR (or also CMC) have no other choice than China. Imagine the costs of a high detailed 1500+ parts model made in Europe... |

Hi Lars welcome
not all of the RGM models are made in Italy

Thats interesting Christian. They are beautiful models nontheless.... I still love them and have on order the CMC Ferrari 250 TR #22 (LeMans version) from them. The current one available is the "restored" version.
I guess one thing to think about is that some of these models that are made in China are lacking in quality on some of them. This can be costly to the company (BBR) because sales will drop or they will have many returns... So, in the end, it might just be better to either move operations back over to Italy OR train -more thoroughly- the quality control in China??
