I'm waiting for the 308 from BBR. I hope they will do a good job with the shape of the car. I like this Ferrari
This model has already been released in the past by BBR, no ?

Hey Pat, BBR did make the 308 at one time. It is BBR34
Hopefully BBR doesnt start making ALL of their "old" models again like the styling models. I will sell my collection if they do. Plus, in my opinion, it would be a good way for BBR to shoot themselves in the foot if they remake all the old models like styling models. Prices for all these rare and beautiful models will plummet
Just my 2 cents....

Don't worry, James.
Last years BBR repeated some of their old models. But they are retooling and improving, not exact copies of the previous editions. Don't harry with selling your collection, wait a little!

Now you have to look very carefuly before buying a limited edition BBR. Because there are limited edition of allready limited edition ! Finally the model is no more rare.

Exemple:

1/50

1/10

1/10

WTF ?? Base is rarer than the car...

It's something that makes me crazy.....i don't like this "trade policy" and even see my old MR rebuilt some years after as LOOKSMART..... both are not "winning" decisions.

Thanks Vladimir. Very glad to hear...
One BBR model i am waiting for is the 1957 Ferrari 4.9 Superfast s/n 0719. I believe BBR did this model as BBR14? But in a slightly different color then the new version? Does anyone know why they are re-doing this one? It appears that BBR14 is a light blue with white top and the new BBR version is a blue\green with white top. Perhaps with new owners the colors changed? This seems to happen a lot with Ferrari's...
This model should "hopefully" come out this year.

For James.
You are right, old 0719 was produced as BBR14. I can only suppose that they decided to repeat this model in other color because dark blue with white (or ivory?) was original colors of Turin and Paris saloon's car. I checked my small library and find period photos in Bruno Alfieri book "Ferrari America Superamerica Superfast".
Short story of this car is also in "Fantastic Ferraris" book by Antoine Prunet and Peter Vann. Both books show the 0719 in dark, not light blue. But, again, it's only my supposition.

I dont know the color
they are doing the model a second time because they use the same mould to build the 250 GT Coupe chassis 0725 from Prinz Bernhard for RGM . number is CAR 24

the 2 bodys of the real cars are nearly identical

so true all of this , one of the reasons im fed up with 1/43 and one of the resons i decided to sell a lot of my collection - the market has been flooded with specials that are so numerous they are not special .in time these newer BBR's will be worthless but the older ones will be the sought after examples --we will see an explosian of prices like we have in AMR /LP Stuff . in tough times collectors
find themseleves spending more for leather base and box than for the model car -

Exactly the reason why I am selling all my "new" BBR's.

I simply prefer them, and when I look at my showcase, I want to see something special, and with a story to it...
No mass produced cars for me..

Well, here we have another problem. If BBR used one mould for two different models - one of them is wrong. Yes, both cars are almost identical in appearance. But 0725 built on the 250GT chassis with 1350 mm wheel track, while for 0719 used 410SA chassis with 1450 mm track. Those extra 100 mm gives about 2.5 mm in 1/43 scale. So, correct models should differ in track and body width accordingly.
If anybody have those two models he can check dimensions and identify which one is correct and which is not. I think it will interesting for Ferrari model collectors.

As most of you I am not the biggest fan of the re-releases, unless they offer a significant improvement (and even then, the older ones will probably maintain their appeal). On the other hand, I can understand BBR as well. They are a commercial company and they first need to make money before they can offer us other great models. I just wish BBR would be a little more creative with their model range. I can't -of example- understand why BBR doesn't offer a 330 America. They could do that with very little change over their current 250GTE. Or why they haven't included the 275 GTS Spider NART 09437 in her 1967 Sebring livery in their Spider NART-range.
